We had such a lovely evening last night at Wombourne Quilters. It was our annual Show and Tell evening followed by a buffet and strawberries and cream. I love the way everyone's work is so different - there are quilts large and small, bags, pictures, dolls, textile books - all of which are made in our spare time.
It's such a friendly group that newcomers are welcomed and advice given where needed. There is such a lot to learn from an evening such as this...and such a lot to eat...oh well!
I apologise that not everyones contributions are included here as I sometimes forgot to photograph. Must try harder next time!
A big thank you must be said to the donors of prizes for our lovely raffle and especially to Gill Bates for the fabulous cake with an iced patchwork quilt on the top. We raised £23 for our funds.
Here are some of the pennants being made as part of a big countrywide project to provide every participant in the London 2012 Olympics with a gist to take home to their country.
Last weekend it was the local village carnival in Wombourne and we were represented there by volunteers from the group. We are always looking for new members who would be interested in textiles and quilting. Above are Carole and Denise after setting up.
