Important message - Please note

As the weather forecast is not good this week with the possibility of further snow, and people would be reluctant to turn out in the evening, we have decided to cancel Wombourne Quilters meeting this Wednesday and postpone the Wiggly Bag workshop until our next meeting on February 6th. Although this message is going to all WQ members, please mention it to anyone you see to make sure everyone knows. Thanks

The shop is closing down this week and Saturday is the last trading day from the shop on Coalway Road and there will be lots of bargains available

Requirements for Wiggly Bag workshop Feb 6th

Please can you bring your sewing kit - there will be some fabric but do bring any fabric that you may have that is suitable for children (half a fat quarter is sufficient).

There will be some cutting boards etc and sewing machines available but if you can bring your own please do with matching or neutral coloured thread.

Wombourne Quilters Show 2013

Date and venue

The date for the quilt show this year will be Saturday 21st September - and the venue will be the Community Centre in Wombourne. 

Bag Raffle

We have decided that we will hold a bag raffle at the show in September and will need lots of beautiful hand made bags. Gill Biel will run a Bag-making workshop at Bradmore with ideas, patterns and help (date to be decided). I know many of you have made some lovely bags, so do have a go and you do not have to wait until the workshop!

Time of meetings - 2013

The Hand in Hand will be booked from 7.30 until 9.30pm for our meetings this year, with an extension to 10pm for a speaker.

I have decided to step aside as Group leader of Wombourne Quilters for the time being and Carole Auden has agreed to take my place. I am to have a hip replacement later this spring and will not be able to get to meetings for some time. Do keep in contact but any queries about the group please direct to Carole or members of the committee.
